Into The Badlands Showrunner Reveals Big Changes In Store For Season 2 Exclusive

... one, to Ireland, where we shot season two, which allowed us to really open up the show. Gough went on to explain that some of the architecture of the show will change, and that had a lot to do with the move to Ireland. (Photo: AMC ). Yes. And we move away from that in this season. Like I said, we'll see more of the work. Frankly, one of the reason we moved from New Orleans to Ireland is to give us more landscapes 'cause as you know, there really isn't. What we saw in New Orleans is pretty much what it looks like, and we wanted to show a lot more variety to the world. So, that's what we were able to do with the move to Ireland that seemed good. Are we gonna see more in season two of some of these other Barons and factions that were teased in season one. Yes, you will. You're gonna see. You're actually gonna meet the Barons in an episode coming up, where in. What's called a conclave, which is when all the Barons get together when they have a dispute to settle. So, you'll definitely get to see. You're gonna meet the other Barons. Some of whom, you're gonna get to know a lot better this season. ...

From ‘badlands’ To Worse For Sunny In Season 2 Of Epic Amc Series

Calling in from Cape Town, South Africa, Daniel Wu says he’s enjoying filming the feature film “Tomb Raider,” which has served as something of a respite from the rigors of his day job, the AMC martial arts drama “Into the Badlands.”. “Definitely I need recovery time, for sure, and I’m definitely enjoying ‘Tomb Raider,’ where I don’t have to fight as crazily as in ‘Badlands,’ the 42-year-old actor says with a laugh. “I look at it as more of a vacation because I’m not physically enduring the kind of stuff I have to do for ‘Badlands.’”. Season 2 opens Sunday, March 19, and picks up six months after the events of the first season finale. It finds warrior Sunny (Wu) not in a good place, having been taken away from the Badlands by the River King and separated from his young colt M. K. (Aramis Knight). Daniel Wu On Why He Almost Didn't Star On Into The Badlands
Daniel Wu On Why He Almost Didn't Star On Into The Badlands

... we doing? This is horrible.”. You said you have a background in martial arts. I started martial arts when I was 11 and I started learning traditional Shaolin Kung Fu because I saw “Shaolin Temple” and I wanted to learn exactly what Jet Li did. Then I switched to competitive Wushu, a form-based martial arts. As a kid, I thought that was cool, so I dabbled in everything. Do you think you could play this role if you didn’t have previous experience in martial arts. No. No, no. You really have to have a foundation, I think. When I first started working on the show, I was only an executive producer in charge of martial arts and I had not put myself forward to play Sunny. In my head, I was like, we should find someone late 20 s or early 30 s because if it goes on for six or seven years, your body has to last that long and I was 40. Can I still be doing that at 48? Even now, I’m not sure. So we went and auditioned hundreds of people and got really great martial artists who were not great actors or vice versa, and you need a balance. We met four or five guys who were both, and the producers turned to me and said, “You ...

Orla Brady On Swanky Martial Arts, Challenging Stunts

... I just—I loved this season. The challenge, if you'd like, was doing stunts, but it turns out I am [laughs] a pacifist. A few years ago I had to do something where I played FBI and we had to do gun training. I got all the shots straight into the thing. I'm a natural-born assassin. I’m the same with the stunts. I can't imagine hitting or hurting somebody, but man, I can do it. I mean, when we were doing this scene I loved it. Daniel Wu talked with us about the different ways the fans are taking to Into The Badlands. Some people who might not be martial arts fans are finding your character or The Widow to be their favorite characters. What feedback have you heard from fans that speaks to the diverse elements of the show. The gist I got from being at Comic-Con was just the fact that people seem to latch on to different stories. What amazed me was that some of ...

And they are working towards it in a new location, with production on the show moving from New Orleans to Dublin, Ireland for the second season. “What Ireland provides for us is much more epic visuals,” Wu said about the move. “We can shoot in the mountains, we can shoot on the coast, it’s all within a half hour. It gives a broader scope compared to last season. New Orleans was basically swamp and more swamp and more swamp, we didn’t have mountains or any of that stuff. That was challenging about last season, we ...
