Current Morehead State women's basketball head coach Greg Todd and former men's basketball star Harold Sergent will be inducted into the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame in July. The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame announced the final 18 members of its centennial class during a news conference Tuesday at the Lexington Marriott Griffin Gate. New members will be officially inducted as part of a ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. on July 22 at the State Theater in Elizabethtown. At 11 a.m. that day, the Hall of Fame will celebrate the grand opening of its building as part of a weekend-long celebration of its first 100 inductees. The KHSBHF began inducting members in 2009 to coincide with the centennial year of high school basketball in the state of Kentucky. Todd, who has led the Eagle women's team to its first-ever berth in the Women's National Invitation Tournament this year, was a coaching legend at Lexington Catholic High School and Berea High School. The Tigers are a distance second with 128 trips to the tournament. There are 348 Division I programs that were eligible for this year’s event, and nine of those play as Wildcats. Five are in the field in this year’s tournament, but unfortunately only two made it into the Sweet 16, which begins Thursday. The two remaining Wildcats teams are Kentucky and Arizona. Kentucky made its 57 th NCAA Tournament appearance this year, the most by any team. The Wildcats have eight titles to their credit, along with four runner-up finishes in 17 Final Four visits.
