Y. - When Doyin Akintobi-Adeyeye arrived at Syracuse University as a freshman, he hoped to become a walk-on for the Orange basketball. At least once a week, he would go over to the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center and ask the receptionist if she knew anything about tryouts for the team. She didn't. She said she would find it. Akintobi-Adeyeye kept showing up, but the receptionist didn't have any news until one day she told him a date had been set for tryouts. Akintobi-Adeyeye performed well, but Kip Wellman, the team's director of basketball operations, had bad news. Somehow, Akintobi-Adeyeye's personal medical insurance had lapsed from his parents' plan.
